Anasazi Small Mortar Bowl Saint Johns ArizonaThis is from a small group of arizona artifacts consigned to su several months ago. They were described as having been found on the surface on private property near saint john's, arizona. I am calling this a small mortar bowl but you may haev other information. A lot of work went into making this unusual artifact. The top has a nice deep bowl and the edges are round so it has a doughnut appearance. Turn it over and the base has been cut in to form an oval foot which is nicely polished. It is made out of a volcanic stone (lava). It has me scratching my head trying to figure out just what it was actually used for. Shipping costs will be $7.00 within the united states and exact cost anywhere else in the world.
